Hi I'm Simon, I am a fully qualified Government Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) and I am passionate about road safety.
I'm originally from a town called Haverfordwest in Pembrokeshire, after leaving school I joined the Army as a Vehicle Mechanic in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME). As I progressed through my career and became a more senior mechanic I gained the responsibility of mentoring the next generation of mechanics joining my workshop in both their trade ability and their soldiering skills. It was at this point I discovered I was very passionate about helping people to develop new skills and overcome obstacles.
After the birth of my son, I decided I wanted a career which allowed me to come home to him and my wife every night, so given my vehicle based background and my love of mentoring, becoming a driving instructor was and obvious choice for me.
I decided to train with LDC for two reasons;
The first is their unique way of training students by means of the LD system and encouraging people to take control of their own learning is very similar to how I mentored people in the past.
The second is the flexibility of LDC's Instructor Training Programme allowed me to carry out my training while I was still serving my final year of nine with the Army.
I was fortunate to be trained by LDC in the latest adult coaching and training techniques so you can be assured the training I give will be of the highest standard.
I decided work with LDC after my training because everybody is different and the LD System allows for flexibility in lessons so that you learn to drive safely at a rate that suits you. I aim to make every lesson enjoyable and as productive as possible. The LD System just helps me to do this more effectively.
Lessons are always conducted in a calm, friendly and relaxed manner as I firmly believe in making pupils feel at ease during lessons.
